Cleveland Area Education & Awareness Fundraising Event
Hilton Garden Inn
Twinsburg, Ohio
Cathy & Jim Poznik, of Twinsburg, OH helped to host this event, their fourth year doing so to raise money and awareness of Chiari and syringomyelia (CM/SM). In the past, they’ve helped to raise over $40,000 for the CM/SM cause from these events. This year’s event was once again held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Twinsburg, OH. There were 130 people in attendance and almost $12,000 was raised. Event sponsors included Key Bank, Porter Wright Morris & Arthur, and A. Ripepi & Sons Funeral Home. In addition, there was support from the Twinsburg Hilton Garden Inn, Twinsburg AC Soccer, and Twinsburg Dairy Queen.
In addition to the Keynote speakers, family friend Mary Ann Wojtila helped with the candle lighting ceremony, Kara Ketchesin, age 17, gave a moving testimonial, and Dorothy Poppe, CSF’s Executive Director spoke about CSF’s vision. We welcomed back many familiar faces and were happy to see Jake Nees, a 7th grader at Chamberlin Middle School, back for his fourth event, who once again, made a $100 contribution out of his own money. In years past, he even had lemonade stands to help make his donations. We look forward to next year’s event and thank all of our friends and family for making this year’s event so successful.
